I have installed the "out of the box" Inventory for Maximo 8.1 (and 8.0) application and on the iPhone (5) I cannot for the life of me work out how the user is to return to the main menu. If I go into quick search or any of the other main items off the menu I cannot find a way to go back (so I can change from say quick search to Issues or POs). On the Android I use the back button that the phone has.
Now I can add a close screen button to the action menu, but surely I must be missing something and out the of box the user can go back to the main menu without having to exit the app, clear it from running and then log back in.

I am Computer Engineer working with SAP's Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions in Mexico City (I'm 42). I've been on SAP's world for only 3 years. Before that I knew nothing on SAP. I only knew Oracle BI Tools and BI concepts, design and BI project management. I then found an opportunity working with SAP BusinessObjects.
So, as you see it's perfectly possible to jump to the SAP's world. And I would really encourage you to try. Knowing a module is not a prerequisite. Your C & SQL knowledge would pave your way through technical areas of knowledge like ABAP or HANA.
But learning a module would also be possible. In my opinion success there lies more on business knowledge and experience than on technical skills, but both can be acquired with real projects.
I believe there would two ways to start. Of course decide first the SAP's area you want to follow.
1) Find a job opportunity as a junior consultant where you can learn by practicing and/or with academy support from the employer.
or
2) Invert some money and take an academy and offer then your professional services to the world.
Both roads imply economical sacrifice or investment, but I think later there will be a retribution. The first opportunity might take time to present but If SAP really attracts you the effort will be worth and, most important, you will be doing what you want, leading your professional career towards the right direction.

As a developer, I have two government clients each of whom have purchased legal copies of Sybase ASA 12 licenses. I have the license numbers from the Old Sybase downloads.
How can we get access to updates and downloads.
Since SAP have taken over we can no longer obtain downloads for patches.
I would have thought that the old licenses would have transferred to SAP, with an appropriate SAP customer ID being assigned.
Hi, We are now impletementing SAP retail and EWM.
In SAP, we have Distribution center and stores. (Distribution center and Stores are all plants under the same company code)
In EWM, we only link our warehouse to SAP Distribution center, not to the stores.
The business scenario is to procure and manage the materials as vendor consignment stock. One material will have only one source of supply.
We'll create vendor consignment PO in Distribution center, create stock transfer order to transfer the vendor consignment stock from Distribution center to stores, and also the store return STO to distribution center, return PO to vendor. All the inventoris in these scenarios are vendor consignment stock.
SAP Retail works fine with these scenarios. But with EWM, we met issues in stock transfer order scenario.
In stock transfer order scenario, the PGI of SAP Distribution Center outbound delivery is triggered via EWM. We got the post successfully with movement type "641" and special stock indicator "K" to issue vendor consignment stock to stock in transit. This is what we expected.
But there is an extra material document also posted with movement type "411" and special stock indicator "K" to transfer the vendor consignment stock to own stock. => This is unreasonable....
Another issue is about stock transfer order with return indicator. In EWM, the system could not determine the return delivery is going to poted to vendor consignment stock. The owner of the stock become own stock instead of vendor consignment after we post the GR and putaway into our distribution center in EWM. The EWM stock became own stock, and the post goods issue is not able to update to SAP Retail. There is an error in SAP qRFC Monitor Inbound Queue.
I'd like to know if anyone have been work with similar scenario and can give me some advise.

I can't check it since I am not authorized to access ST13 but I think there MUST be a VIEW or SETTINGS menu similar to screen below wherein you can restore the view to NETWORK from TREE DISPLAY..

It's not a "Direct Assignment" or else it would have a equal (=) sign. It shows a Composite sign in the User Maintenance Record and that is coming from the Composite Role but the role doesn't have THAT "Single Role". Are you suggesting me to run PFUD with that specific Comp.role?

Hi,
Virtual materials use the following types: ZWAR, ZLCN, ZVSC. Physical products use ZTAN. To clarify, I would like the return process to work for all products. I have (perhaps in correctly) labelled it as a virtual returns process as for this option I don't want to have to do an actual goods receipt in the warehouse. The thought behind using a fixed warehouse location for this process is so we can show the cost of the product coming back into the business, and if a re- invoicing to the customer ( or a different customer) is required, both transactions will show the cost as standard credit & debit memos do not record / use the cost.

The Kernel patch is there - 742/28 and it is connecting with ABAP which is having Kernel of 742/200 ?
Will there be any issue with that? What can be done ot the necessary changes which can not flodded the SAP abap gateway with the jstart connection with disconnecting status?

You don't mention why you need such scenario, how often will the first process chain run, and what will trigger it. ¿Wouldn't it be possible to just schedule the second process chain periodically or n times between the 8 to 20 h. time frame thus avoiding the need for the first p.c.? That would be straightforward...

1. set that iview to use navmode 10 as described in SAP note #2014109 - Rendering problems on loading UI5 iViews on IE browser
2- In the SAP-IE you have to change that using "SAP-IE=Edge" as we will test rendering that application in standards.
3.It was applied the newest patch EP-runtime component with its prerequisites according to information of market place.
