Last question, I promise. I'm trying to get my head around what SQL knowledge can you leverage when the application is Netweaver. Isn't any backend maintenance in the SAPGUI and any custom code done in ABAP and process chains? What pure SQL functionality can you leverage? Thanks again.

I have 2 repositories and both are configured to syndicate records. Initially the repository 1 was not working and the repository 2 was working. I decided to change the Port code for the repository 1 to try to make it work. Now the repository 1 is working and repository is not working anymore.

welcome in the world of "Substance Volume Tracking". The table CCRCC_EHS_SLIMIT does have a "special" use in SVT. Shortly:
a.) if you registered e.g. CAS 50-00-0 for pompany "Exxon" in > 100 t/a you maintained this data according to SAP EHS SVT standard model in property: "Registration (company-specific)"
b.) then you apply some general threshold limits for "warnings" etc. (50% of a value) in the customizing
Now if the substance is aggregated per company code in such a way that 50% of 100 T/a is exceeded you get a warning etc. (online checks etc.) if you have prepared a proper set up.
Now by using property "Specific Quantity Limits (SVT)" you "overwrite" these general threshold limits and system reactions. E.g. you can specify that regarding 50-00-0 you would like to get the warning not with 50% but with 40% etc.
As we are not using CCRCC_EHS_SLIMIT I can provide you only the feedback that the "trafic" light should be "calculated" by using at least the "general limits" based on the amount aggregated.. PLease check if you have entries for the same specification in CCRCC_EHS_REG and check your generalSVT customizing regardgin the "general" warning limits
So in most cases according to my experience there is no need to maintain data in "Specific Quantity Limits (SVT)" to use SVT properly
May be execute a cross read in: Substance Volume Tracking using SAP EHS MANAGEMENT; might help.

Thank you for your reply, Ian. What I ended up doing was within the Data panel expanding the characteristic hierarchy and choosing Leaf Members and dragging it over the cross tab to show the flat list. My users seemed fine with this approach.

RESTful Webservices for UNX Universe
Dear Experts,
Is Restful available for Changing connections for a UNX Universe (both single and multi source, more interested in multi source).
Environment details:
BI 4.0 SP601
MS SQL Server 2008, Oracle 11g
Scenarios:
1. For a multi-source universe, with MS SQL Server, when we switch connections within an environment or between environments, we have to change the owner name manually. Please refer to the ideaplace in the following link:
SAP confirmed that this is by design and we have to do all the manual work of changing the owner names, if there are any aliases, derived tables, custom SQL LOVs, etc. etc.
So we wanted see if there is an automated way of doing that.
2. Normally in some scenarios when we migrate universe, on the destination system, the migrated universe will have to be imported, and the connections are changed, and then exported back to the repository.
Please advise. Let me know any questions
